A bathroom renovation is only as good as the parts nobody sees — the waterproofing behind the tiles and the pipework beneath the floor. Rough-in to fit-off, one set of hands
Most renovation grief comes from the handovers — the plumber who roughs in never sees how it finishes, and the finish never quite matches the plan. We do the whole job instead — rough-in through to fit-off. Kim sets out the wet area, runs the rough-in for basins, showers, baths, toilets and laundry, then returns for fit-off once the tiling is done. The person who marked the floor is the person who hangs the tapware. That continuity is the difference between a bathroom that simply looks finished and one that was actually built right, top to bottom.
Waterproofing done to the standard, not the deadline
Waterproofing is the part of a bathroom nobody sees and everybody pays for when it is rushed. On the coast the stakes are higher — humidity, salt and heavy holiday-rental use find every weak membrane. We waterproof wet areas to the Australian Standard, give each coat the cure time it needs, and document the work as part of the compliance paperwork lodged on the job. No shortcuts hidden behind the tiles. It is slower to do properly, and it is the reason your renovation stays watertight long after the trowels are packed up.
Coordinated coastal builds, without the finger-pointing
A renovation runs through tilers, cabinetmakers, electricians and glaziers, and the plumbing has to thread cleanly between all of them. We coordinate the wet-area trades so the sequence holds — rough-in before screed, waterproofing before tiling, fit-off after glass — and nobody is left waiting on a pipe or blaming the next trade. For remote and coastal blocks we plan around access and delivery distances up front, and bring a self-sufficient setup so a job an hour past Lancelin runs as tightly as one in the northern suburbs.

A laundry is small, wet and worked hard — exactly where good plumbing shows. We renovate and fit out laundries with sensible falls, accessible shut-offs, and connections set out for how the room is actually used, whether it is a family home or a rental that needs to survive back-to-back changeovers. Same discipline as the bathroom: proper rough-in, proper waterproofing where it is required, and a clean fit-off.
