On a Nilgen block or a Turquoise Coast lot, there is no sewer main to tie into and no town water at the boundary. The block has to run itself: a septic system sized to the soil, tanks, pumps and access a truck can reach. That is the work North Contracting was built for. Kim spent six years in Newman servicing Pilbara mines and remote communities, where the job has to be right first time. Same setup and same compliance-first paperwork, coast or outback.

Septic and treatment systems, sized to your soil
Limestone, sand and coastal loams all drain differently, and the wrong system on the wrong soil is a problem you live with for years. We assess the ground, recommend the right setup — conventional septic with leach drains, or an aerated treatment unit where the block or the water table demands it — and install it to WA health regulations. Every system is matched to the number of bedrooms and the way the property is actually used, including holiday rentals that swing from empty to full in a weekend. The approvals and paperwork are lodged, not left for you to chase.
Water tanks and off-grid supply
No mains means your water is whatever you catch and store. We supply and plumb rainwater and storage tanks, size them against your roof area and household demand, and connect pumps, first-flush and filtration so the water coming out of the tap is clean and pressured. For fully off-grid blocks we set up the whole chain — collection, storage, treatment and distribution — so a coastal or bush property runs independently through a dry Turquoise Coast summer without you rationing every shower.
Earthworks, excavation and site access
Before the plumbing goes in, the ground has to be right. We handle excavation for tanks, trenching for water and gas lines, drainage to move water away from the house, pads and levelling, and the access tracks that let a truck get to a block set back off the road. Doing the earthworks and the plumbing under one operator means the trenches are dug where the pipes need to go — no second contractor, no finger-pointing when something does not line up.
Fencing and finishing the block
A rural property is not finished when the water runs. We install fencing to mark boundaries, contain stock or pets and secure the areas around tanks, pumps and treatment systems. It is the kind of work a coastal or remote owner would otherwise have to line up a separate trade for — handled here as part of getting the whole block sorted in one go.
